What is your favorite book?
The Hobbit
What is your favorite movie?
Star Wars – I was 10 in 1977!
What is your favorite musician/song?
The Jam – Never really popular in the U.S. but should have been. They opened for Blue Oyster Cult in the 80s on their first big U.S. tour. Truly pathetic marketing.
Describe a memorable bike related moment?
Having a drag-race with Gary Fisher up Fairfax Bolinas Road in 1998 or 1999. I was riding w/ a small group, w/ David H, out of Fairfax and someone decides to light it up on the way up to the golf course. We passed some old geezers along the way and one of them decided to tag along, GF himself. It was a hammer-fest all the way to Alpine Dam. GF dropped me on the way up to Ridgecrest. That was easily the fastest I’ve ever ridden that climb. We rode again about 3 years ago. There was a crash at the sprint in Nicasio on the Saturday morning Rosters ride. Practically everyone stops but Gary keeps rolling so I roll too. We rode together for a few miles while waiting for the group. He was really into talking about all of the Trek bikes, his line, Lemond, etc. He liked that my Sycip was made out of steel. Nice guy.
Anything else you would like to add?
CX – The best overall atmosphere by far.
