Umm... I suppose it’s a tie between Raising Arizona and The Royal Tenenbaums

What is your favorite musician/song?

Oh, tough one – right now it’s *anything* by Postal Service (the band, not the cycling team), the Shins, or the New Pornographers.

Describe a memorable bike related moment?

I have two very sad memories. Back when I was a roadie in Georgia, I raced on a Charlotte-based team with a great kid named Sean Johnston. During a road race near Asheville, NC, there was a crash and Shawn was thrown over the yellow line and into the oncoming traffic and was tragically killed. Sad memory #2 is for my good friend Dave Martin, who was the ace sprinter on our Atlanta Cycling road team that dominated the regional scene in the mid-90’s. A couple of years ago he was on a solo training ride and was hit from behind and killed by an elderly woman on a busy road outside Atlanta – he was doing everything right, helmet on, on the extreme right shoulder – he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Am I bumming you out? Be careful out there. As a direct result I do most of my training on the paved circuit around the polo fields in Golden Gate Park, where my biggest risk is a bloody nose from an angry soccer fan.
